Below you will find images of upblast or sidedraft fan deficiencies or recommendations for service in restaurant & industrial exhaust systems.

Image of restaurant exhaust fan with bad belt alignment

Customer installed a motor on their own thinking this would save money and called us out because of belts that were not lasting or riding off. They ended up losing money because of a simple mistake.

Red arrow points to where the belt it riding high on pulley and blue is where the belt is riding low. The pulley on the motor is set high on the shaft causing belts to ride off.

Image of restaurant exhaust fan belt proper alignment

In this picture the pulley and the motor were adjusted. Now the belt rides on both pulleys without running high or low on either pulley.

These kind of situations can cause a restaurant to fill with smoke in a hurry when the belt is off. This customer actually lost customers throughout this mishap because of the smoke filled restaurant, until they called us out to check on the situation

Beside being dirty this fan has another issue

Image of restaurant exhaust fan faulty wiring

Red arrow points to the wiring not in a conduit, grease soaked, and running up the inside of the duct wall. The wiring should be in a waterproof conduit and run on the outside of the curb (duct) and to  the fan via a lockout power switch for safety purposes and code
