Neglected Restaurant Exhaust System: Duct, Vent, Fan, Plenum, Hood Images

Restaurant Exhaust Cleaning Contractor Negligence #3

This is the cleaning performance sticker (Business Card Taped to Hood) from the company that cleaned this system on 6/2007 and it is now only 11/2/2007

We know the date because if the card is held sideways you can see the dates.

(Pen wore off but the imprint is still there)

(The company name is withheld for legal reasons)

Image of a restaurant hood cleaning contractor neglecting fan

This is the fan bowl of the System

The blades and bowl have not been thoroughly cleaned to keep stress off the motor

This is no where near enough time for this much buildup in a system like what you are about to see

Image of a restaurant hood cleaning contractor neglecting fan

These are the fan blades

The company attempted to clean the fan, as you can see by the marks

Image of a restaurant hood cleaning contractor neglecting grease duct

This is a shot from the plenum area looking up the duct. Notice the fire suppression system nozzle is caked with grease and plugged

Another shot from below

If the nozzles are plugged or covered with grease, they may not spray properly or at all if there were a fire below

This is the totally neglected exhaust duct from the roof looking down towards the hood. This system will also have to be scraped
